In response to criticism from the US Vice President, Jay Dee Vance, on Friday (14.02.2025), Germany’s Minister of Economics, Robert Habeck, stated on Saturday (15.02.2025): ‘Mind your own business; there is plenty for you to do in the USA.’ Habeck, also a candidate for Germany’s Green Party, criticized Vance during an interview with ‘RTL/n-tv’, emphasizing that Vance’s actions were not within his responsibilities. He pointed out that Vance had aligned rhetorically and politically with authoritarian leaders, undermining Western values. In statements to the German news agency ‘dpa,’ Habeck noted that the Trump administration represents different values and political perspectives compared to previous shared European-US ideals. Europe must now respond confidently, he continued: ‘We should not tremble but stand firm, stating clearly: This is not the European way of life, it is not our Constitution; stay out of our affairs.’
