A prosecutor has requested an 18-month suspended jail sentence in the trial of French actor Gérard Depardieu, who is accused of sexual assault against two women during the filming of the movie ‘Les Volets verts’ in 2021. The prosecutor also demanded a fine of €20,000, mandatory psychological treatment, a two-year deprivation of rights, and registration in the sex offenders’ database for Depardieu. The hearing will continue with the defense presenting its case. The 76-year-old actor faces an increasing number of sexual assault allegations in recent years. Despite this, Depardieu denies any criminal wrongdoing, marking this as the first case where he is being tried.
