Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis will take part in a live online debate with journalist Stefanos Kassellakis tonight at 10 p.m., the political party “Democrats” announced. The event, promoted as a direct, face-to-face democratic dialogue, aims to foster open political exchange on the Greek National Healthcare System (ESY) in front of citizens.

A Direct Exchange on ESY

According to the Democrats’ press release, the discussion is framed as an “unmediated confrontation” — a transparent, citizen-facing conversation intended to highlight differing policy perspectives on healthcare reform and management.

Background to the Invitation

The invitation to Minister Georgiadis was extended several days ago by Tyler MacBeth — spouse of Democrats’ leader and former healthcare professional in U.S. health institutions — during a YouTube vidcast hosted by the LGBT Center Greece, alongside Kassellakis. MacBeth expressed his desire to sit down with Georgiadis to explore “all possible avenues” for strengthening and improving the ESY.
