George Karkas: ‘Spyros Bampilas Knew That Petros Philippidis Is Not a Rapist’

The trial of the renowned actor continued for yet another day at the Appeals Court, where defense witnesses publicly shared their version of the truth regarding the two alleged rape attempts for which he is accused. Among them was George Karkas, who once again attacked Spyros Bampilas. Speaking on the “Super Katerina” show Thursday (05.06.2025), the actor stated that he does not wish to say more publicly about the matter. George also referenced Paschalis Tsarouchas, and during his testimony, discussions centered around him as well. ‘This is an ongoing court case; I have nothing else to say,’ George Karkas initially remarked, adding: ‘These things are said in a courtroom to help establish the full picture of what actually happened, not to be leaked publicly or tarnish someone’s reputation unnecessarily. These were spoken in court, not to defame publicly but simply to assist justice in reaching its conclusions.’ During his deposition, George Karkas discussed Paschalis Tsarouchas in relation to Petros Philippidis’s trial. He recounted being present at dinners with Spyros discussing former employees of Tsarouchas who wanted to accuse him of assault but were held back by pressure. When questioned about why he did not act similarly, Spyros replied, ‘I don’t get involved.’ George criticized Bampilas for his selective outrage, pointing out his daily media appearances concerning Philippidis while remaining silent on other issues. George concluded by calling Bampilas manipulative, stating that he sees people as accessories and is self-righteous. Despite lacking direct evidence, Karkas argued these claims were based on hearsay from interactions he witnessed. Meanwhile, George’s father Antonis expressed pride in his son’s integrity despite facing hardships. Spyros Bampilas, responding to accusations, emphasized respecting the judicial process and knowing his true character.
