Gaza: At Least 52 Killed in Israeli Attacks – Including Child and MSF Worker

At least 52 people were killed in Gaza on Thursday (October 2, 2025) in Israeli military strikes, including a child and a staff member of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), according to Gaza’s Civil Defense and local health authorities. The Hamas-affiliated emergency service reported that the fatalities occurred since early morning, with 10 deaths — including at least one child — in Gaza City. Hospitals confirmed receiving bodies: 10 from Gaza City, 14 from central areas, and 28 from the south. Victims died from airstrikes, drone attacks, and other gunfire. The Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis recorded around 30 deaths, 14 of them after Israeli fire hit Palestinians awaiting food distribution in Al-Tina and Morag. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah received nine bodies following multiple strikes. Among the victims was 26-year-old Omar al-Hayyer, an MSF worker killed in central Deir al-Balah. MSF representative Karin Haster condemned the attack: “Some of our staff were injured and taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. We discovered one colleague dead and four injured. Whether targeted or not, this is unacceptable. Enough with the killings!” The Israeli military said it was reviewing the reports.
