Where is the Gold Market Heading?
The two month highs of the US dollar have weighed on the price of gold. Despite the fact that gold prices usually rally in times of economic uncertainty, such as the European debt crisis that is currently weighing on the markets, the price of the dollar is is effecting gold’s position as a currency alternative.

Recently, the gold market has continued to find new record levels on a regular basis, nevertheless, for the time being, the market appears to be struggling. We have seen many pull backs of this nature in the past, however the metal has eventually continued.

The Financial Markets and Where Next for the FTSE 100?
The market rally since July 2010 has seen stocks gain nearly 20%, but along the way we have seen our fair share of wobbles. The root cause for each wobble has been a European issue, however despite the fact that the threat of a sovereign debt default is looming large within the Eurozone, the declines in stocks values have been relatively short lived.

Mixed Messages for the US Stock Market
Wall Street continues to rally although there are 3 rather mixed messages in the financial markets at the moment. The simplest angle is the fact that China has announced that industrial production and retail sales continued to expand during the summer.

Trading the Stock Markets and Reading the Money Supply Data
So what does this all mean? Perhaps it means that we should stop berating the banks. It is understandable that the Government wants increased lending (for growth) and also wants the banks to exercise a higher level of fiscal control (for reduced risk).
