A concert started well on Earth Theatre in Thessaloniki, which was full of Placebo fans turned out to be perhaps the greatest disappointment for those concerts, which took place last month in the city. Why the enthusiasm of the public anger succeeded, who despite getting a bit rampant, where the band stayed on stage for … just 45 minutes!
The Placebo appeared immediately in the scene at about 9 pm . They chose to interpret mainly tracks from their new album, and it is characteristic that o Brian Molko was not addressed to the public only after four or five pieces. Of course no one imagined that after that … “licking” (how nice to play in an amphitheater […] the country that gave birth to democracy […] glad we are here again “etc) the public had such treatment.
Some time went by the stage and most felt that just took a break. Five minutes later went back to the scene but to interpret two or three single tracks! The Molko throws the microphone to the audience, all the band members go to the edge of the stage and greet the world descend before. Somewhere there is obviously people are expected to climb again Placebo. But signs indicate that the British were to these tired!
The lights illuminate the Earth Theatre, the teams go up on stage and starting to disconnect the equipment. The applause leave their position in a long gioucharisma. The people refused to leave and after a ten minutes began to be projected and the first bottles, originally from the stands to the leaders of the audio, then to the scene and crews who empty. There were fights and among the spectators, but there was tension outside the site of concert tickets at ticket offices.
Perfectly normal reactions of the spectators, who paid a considerable amount of money to secure their ticket . The issue is of course that the attitude of the Placebo showed no respect to the Greek public and to our country came about … grab. Indeed it is the second consecutive poor showing in Greece since last year at Terra Vibe comments that followed the concert was not only good!
I can not compare this concert with that of ” old “Scorpions in Thessaloniki in June of Aerosmith in Athens, and of course the recent U2! It seems that the “third” (in many import) age of rock respects much more the Greek audience, “paidarelia” Placebo.
If I was in Athens, after what happened tonight in Thessaloniki would return my ticket and will go tomorrow in the concert of Placebo. Unless you put mind and make a more decent appearance, something that let me doubt.
