From January 13, winter discounts – Open shops on the next Sundays

They will start on Monday, January 13th, and will last until Friday, February 28th. At the same time, stores are optionally allowed to open the first two Sundays of regular winter discounts, i.e. on 19 and 26 January 2025, according to an announcement from the Thessaloniki Commercial Association. The opening hours proposed on these Sundays are from 11:00 to 18:00. CORVERSE With regard to winter discounts, it is noted – among other things – that “in any notice of price reduction the earlier price (also often referred to as the reference price) under which the discount is applied is explicitly indicated. The earlier price is the lowest price applied by the trader to each product during the 30-day period before the first discount was applied on 13 January.” It is also stressed that particular attention should be paid to compliance with the provisions on discounts and reduced prices, with penalties for those who break the law providing for the imposition of a fine equal to 1% of the annual turnover and, however, no less than EUR 10,000. In the aggravating case, where the discounts are proven to be inaccurate or misleading, a fine equal to 2% of the annual turnover is imposed and, however, not less than EUR 20,000. Source: RES-AE
