Known in Albania’s media and not for a good reason, Delaver Nela, the citizen who earlier today (29.10.2024) threw eggs and yoghurts at the New Democracy MEP while in the . Delaver Nela had also previously occupied the Albanian authorities as he goes down the streets to protest against any party, either the right or the left. In March 2019 he had made a “impressive” appearance in the protest organized by Democrats, wearing on his head 3 tarps symbolizing the Socialist Party (PS), the Democratic Party (PD) and the Socialist Inclusion Movement (LSI, now PL). “There is no Albania, there are three pans,” he said. A few days later he appeared at the Socialist Congress again to protest although Socialist party supporters violently removed him from the scene. The attack caused the Democratic Party’s reaction with the head of its Parliamentary Group directly blaming Eddie Rama as a motivator. “The natural attack organized by Eddie Rama, on the outside of the House, against MEPs, is an act that shames Albania,” Gazmed Bardi said, adding that the sacred code of hospitality and ethnic harmony was violated. “He suddenly canceled the meeting with MEPs and as a sly ordered the attack on them, proving once again that he does not recognize boundaries against anyone who does not serve his personal interests. On behalf of the Democratic Party’s Parliamentary Group, I strongly condemn the natural attack on MEPs and call on the authorities to act immediately,” Bardi wrote.
