Domestic and International Breakdown
Of the total, 860,000 passengers travelled on domestic routes, while international traffic accounted for 4.7 million passengers. According to Fraport Greece, the growth was driven primarily by international travel, which increased by 212,000 passengers — also a 4.7% rise.
Strongest Growth at Key Island Airports
Several airports posted notable increases in passenger numbers compared to June 2025:
- Thessaloniki: +9%
- Corfu: +6.5%
- Rhodes: +4%
- Chania: +5.8%
- Mykonos: +8%
- Skiathos: +11.2%
- Cephalonia: +7.5%
Middle East Recovery Accelerates
Traffic from the Middle East surged 121.5%, adding 90,000 passengers — though seat load factors dipped slightly (69.9% in June 2026 vs. 71.1% in June 2025). The jump in flight volume signals continued demand growth in the region.
Israel Returns to Pre-Conflict Levels
Passenger traffic from Israel has rebounded to typical summer levels, supported by expanded services from Israeli carriers including Israir, Blue Bird Airways, EL AL, and Arkia Israeli Airlines. Overall, traffic from Israel rose by 73,000 passengers — a 161.3% increase — indicating a return to more normal operations.
Growth from Qatar and UAE Continues
Flights from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to Mykonos — operated by Qatar Airways and flydubai — continue their recovery. Meanwhile, UAE-originating traffic to Corfu and Santorini remains stable at 2025 levels.
Load Factor Slight Decline Amid Steady Demand
The average seat load factor across Fraport Greece’s airports fell to 82.4% in June 2026, down from 84.6% in June 2025. Despite this modest dip, overall passenger numbers held steady with last year’s figures.

Since the start of its concession, Fraport Greece’s airports have welcomed approximately 266 million passengers.
