France: The Delta mutation now accounts for 20% of cases in the country

About 20% of Covid-19 cases in France are now responsible for the Delta mutation of the new coronavirus, first identified in India.

This was stated by the French Minister of Health Olivier Veran, as this variant has recorded an increase compared to last week’s estimate that it represented 9-10% of cases.

The Delta variant now accounts for about 20% of new cases (…) its share continues to increase in percentage, not in absolute terms, as the total number of cases decreases,” Veran said.
