France – Regional elections: Le Pen frustrated with her party’s low performance

The “National Alarm” does not occupy the first place in any of the 6 of the 13 regions.

The French far-right “National Alarm” party of Marine Le Pen recorded a lower-than-expected performance in the first round of regional elections.

Abstentions across the country were projected to rise to a record 66.5% to 68.5%, as voters abstained at the polls, preferring to spend the summer sunny day in the countryside, after months of pandemic restrictions.

The second round of regional elections will be held on June 27.
