The “trial of the century” in the masses of Giselle Peliko, by her husband Dominique and dozens of strangers, is completed as the decision is expected on December 20. In her last statement yesterday (Tuesday 19.11.2024), Giselle Pelico, who with her history shocked France and the world, stressed the need for a serious social debate on the management of rape crime. He started by saying: “I knew what a risk I was taking when I resigned from the right of a closed trial… I confess that today I feel exhausted.” She described the trial as “a trial of cowardice”, insisting on the need for social review to address rape. On the part of the main defendant Dominique Pelico he began his testimony addressing his three children. “I recognize that I hurt them but not at this extent. I insist I never touched my children or grandchildren. I have them in my heart, however,” the main accused, who had been drugging his wife Giselle, told the court for 10 years Pelic, to rape her himself and his 50 co-conspirators. Giselle’s lawyer asked Dominique Pelico about the photographs of his daughter Caroline Darian, whom after his arrest the police had located on his laptop. It is recalled that the photos pictured the 45-year-old sleeping in her underwear. “I can tell her by looking directly into her eyes that I never touched her. Caroline never touched you,” Peliko said. “You’re lying. I’m sick of your lies. You’re alone with your lies. You will die lying,” said Caroline Daryan to her father. But the tension didn’t stop here. The defendant was asked by his lawyer, who he would choose to “support him” during his imprisonment. “This can make someone here scream, but I would like to look my daughter in the eye. It hurts to see her like this, unlike what she believes,” says Dominique Peliko. His response caused a new outbreak of Caroline’s daughter: “I would never come to see you. You’ll end up alone like a dog.” “You always end up alone,” answers Dominique Pelico with his daughter not being given away: “Specially you”. After 10 very intense emotional weeks for Giselle Peliko, the rape trial, with her own husband “planner”, is nearing its end. Her legal team will give her final speeches today Wednesday (20.11.2024) and then the same procedure will be followed by defending the 51 accused. After this process, the five-member judicial committee will meet and on 20 December announce its decisions on the case that has shocked the planet.
