On Friday, October 18, 2024, Dominique Pelico, the main defendant in the trial for the rapes of Giselle Pelico in , described “how easy it was to drug his wife for 10 years to be raped by him and dozens of other unknown men without her realizing the slightest thing. Dominique Pelico described in the court in France how he threw the sleeping pills into the food or ice cream he offered her while she was watching TV. It is a miserable ritual process that has been carried out for almost a decade. When preparing his ex-wife’s evening meal, the 70 – year – old today Dominic Pelico discreetly dropped the sleeping pills he was about to swallow, without her knowing it. Some Temesta tablets, a potent anxiolytic drug synonym for chemical submission, were enough to put her into deep sleep so that she would not react at the time of rape. Between 2011 and 2020, Pelico brought at least 50 men (probably much more in reality, as authorities counted more than 80 potential perpetrators), who were tried with him for the rape of his drugged wife “Tips” by a nurse online Criminal court president, Roger Arata, asked Dominique Pelico about how he supplied the pills. Peliko explained that he spoke to a nurse online, who told him how many Temesta pills he needed to drug his victim and ensure that he would not wake up during the rapes “It took me some time to decide,” he says. He goes on to say that he “used the method gradually”. “In some scenes from 2014, 2015, 2016, until 2018, I believe there are times when my wife reacts,” she explains, referring to more than 20,000 photos and videos of the abuse suffered by Giselle that police found on his hard drive. The amount of anxiolytics was not sufficient and Dominique Pelico had to increase doses to achieve its purposes. “Cooking” I’m sorry to insist, but there are two of you inside this house, it’s not a castle with fifty rooms. In practical terms, how did you do it?” he asked him. “The doses were prepared in advance, depending on the appointment,” replied 71-year-old. The defendant said he was administering the drug while preparing meals. “I was cooking. She had her doubts at times. But in the majority of cases, it was relatively easy,” he said. Dominique continued describing the evenings he spent with his ex-wife. “Most of the time, he was in the bedroom, had already had dinner, had taken the sleeping pill. If it was later, I put it in the ice cream I was preparing for her. I was bringing it to her in front of the TV,” she continues. President Roger Arata asked him about the other stages of his mode of operation: “Mrs Peliko always slept in her pajamas,” the president notes. However, “we could see [in the videos shown in the hearing] that he was wearing only underwear, socks, sometimes black, sometimes white,” the judge added. “The fit, according to everyone’s wishes”. “How did you manage to take off her pajamas without waking up?” the president asked him again. “When he was in deep sleep, it was very easy, I am ashamed. Even for the socks. Sometimes I put the ones they brought me,” Peliko admits. “They were asking me if I washed them: eco-program, Soupline, 30-minute laundry”. Mixture of ‘welfare’ and ‘disability’ The president asked him if, “he had already begun to experience the moment as something exciting.” “It is a mixture of both: pleasure and discomfort “, he replied. The judge asked. “I love her very much, even if this seems strange to you,” replied the organizer of the rapes of his own woman. Opposite him, on the other side of the room, Giselle Pelico was unable to hold back her tears. In the rape videos shown in the hearing, the victim is “an object abused”, stressed Stéphane Babonneau, one of Giselle’s lawyers. “Do you recognize that there is violence in these rapes? “ “Yes, of course,” Pelico replied. “But there is no hatred? Not with her,” says the 70-year-old.
