France: Daycare Worker Gave Lye to an 11-Month-Old Girl Causing Her Death

An unimaginable crime has shocked France. A daycare worker, Miriam Zaouen, gave a caustic liquid (drain cleaner) to an 11-month-old girl because the baby’s crying annoyed her. Initially denying her actions, she later confessed to the murder. Zaouen is accused of killing young Liza in July 2022, who succumbed to severe injuries caused by ingesting the toxic substance. During her trial, Zaouen admitted to giving the drain cleaner to the infant but claimed it was not intentional. Despite acknowledging her actions, she insisted that she did not mean to kill the child.
