A group of anarchists set fire to a Tesla dealership located in the Toulouse area. In their claim of responsibility, they referenced the notorious Nazi salute by Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of the American car manufacturer and close collaborator with Donald Trump. The anarchist collective that took responsibility for the fire which destroyed twelve Tesla vehicles at a dealership in Toulouse, southern France, acted overnight from Sunday to Monday. Under the title ‘Fiery Greeting to Tesla,’ a message posted on the far-left platform Iaata.info stated: ‘we torched the vehicles inside the compound using two petrol canisters.’ The authors of the announcement declared that while elites multiply Nazi salutes, they chose to greet Tesla in their own way. They claimed to embody ‘combative antifascism that does not believe in the myth of democracy’ and ‘radical ecology that does not trust technological solutions.’ Investigations are ongoing following this incident, which caused damages estimated at around 700,000 euros. During Donald Trump’s inauguration, Elon Musk was seen performing a Nazi salute gesture, an act that has been widely criticized.
