Four individuals of Turkish nationality have been identified as being behind the murder that took place on November 5, 2024, in central Athens. According to police, two physical perpetrators were hired by another suspect who received orders to organize and execute the killing of the Turkish victim from a person currently incarcerated. During their investigation, authorities found that the two main suspects acted together with an accomplice, who had recruited them earlier. They traveled to central Athens where they shot the victim as he was getting into his car. Following the attack, they fled on foot, discarding the pistol used in the crime, which was later recovered by police. Ballistics tests confirmed that the four shell casings found at the crime scene matched the recovered firearm. The suspects have prior records for illegal entry and exit from Greece, firearms violations, and are also wanted by Turkish authorities for criminal organization, theft, armed robbery, and drug trafficking. The case has been referred to the competent prosecuting authority for further investigation.
