The rhythms of the carnival ξεφάντωσαν young and old on Thursday 3 March on “Τσικνίσματα” made in the Arkalochori, Kastelli, Thrapsano and the two KAPI of the Municipality.
For the 5th consecutive year, on the afternoon of ash Thursday, more than 50 barbecues were lit along the central avenue in Arkalochori. With music, dancing, and rich food, had fun, and this year young and old who poured into the streets in disguise. The event was held with the co-organization of the Commercial Association.
The event was graced with the presence of the veteran basketball players of the Greek National team coach Giannis Ioannidis and the medalist Chrysopigi Work.
Friday 4 March was an important match charitable spirit with the team of veteran basketball players of the Greek National team and the A’s.P.A. Regeneration. The proceeds of the race will be donated to the under construction centre to spend the day and the agenda of care for persons with mental retardation, “Right to life” that will work in areas ceded to the Municipality of Thrapsano.
Supporters in this effort was the Region of Crete, the D.The.E.OF the local union.MRS.P.K., the Cultural association of Arkalochori, and Oil, and the athletic club ΑΘΛΗΣΥ.
Saturday 5 March, the young hunters searched for the hidden treasure in the streets of Kastelli and in the afternoon revived the ancient custom of the torch Relay. The procession of the carnival ended in the square where is located the Cultural Center. There was waiting for them all to music, dancing, wine, and revelry. The events organized by the Cultural Association of Kastelli.
Sunday 6 March, the Cultural Association organised successfully in Arkalohori 1st Hunt for Hidden Treasure with the participants to send a message of love and solidarity for our fellow human beings, after they managed to collect, in thirty minutes, a huge volume of food.
The curtain of these four days fell with the great carnival parade walkers and floats, held this year in Kastelli, by the Cultural Association, and was followed by a great party in the “Meidani” with great participation.
The events of the Municipality of Minoa Pediadas were based this year on voluntary associations, institutions, entrepreneurs, and the massive participation of the citizens, giving out of joy to residents and visitors with a gun and the spirit and the imagination, but a minimum economic cost.

The ΜαÏουλίτα with assistants Enamel, Thalia, Maria, Katerina, and Valya will entertain our young Indians in a specially designed space at the Square of Iroon Polytechniou, playing with the Elements of Nature… Water – Fire – Air – Earth!!
The little Carnival will be a leading role in a play, a game tailor made to suit them.
You will follow a creative workshop where our little friends will improvise and construct halloween creations inside of a variety of materials (paperboard…confetti…streamers..feathers…ribbons, etc.).
MAIN STAGE “ALAN DALON” . Start time 15:30.m.
In the centre of Arkalochori the band ALAN DALON at 15:30pm will give a concert giving you a memorable Halloween. See you all there!! Waiting for you!!

Kite flying and koulouma in Thrapsano. Start time : 10.00 am.m.
The Cultural association of Oil organizes a kite flying in the Livades. Then will follow the established koulouma in the central square of the village, where you will be offered free of charge the traditional bean soup and other fasting food at all. Dancing and entertainment throughout the course of the day.
