Formula 1: South Africa wants to return after 32 years

So far the black continent, Africa, has no fight in the calendari of its World Championships, and this is an issue that has been mainly concerned with the governments of South Africa, which conducted Grand Prix in Kialami, until 1993. The South African Government has therefore launched a new process to determine whether there is a possibility of Grand Prix taking place in its country. CORVERSE The calendari may be large with 24 Grand Prix and very difficult to enter and exit countries, but in the near future there are possibilities of location and this data works catalytic to rekindle the interest of the South African government, which designated a Formula 1. After exploratory communication with F1 CEO Stefanos Domenikali in last year’s Grand Prix, Azerbaijan, the country’s sports ministry announced a bidding process, with 37 pages describing all the conditions for organising a match. The Commission, if applications are submitted, will assess them in terms of economic supply and infrastructure adequacy, the city they choose, and sustainability for at least 10 years in Formula 1 , starting in 2026 and 2027. The “significant location” should have good public transport and renewable energy sources to meet F1 sustainability criteria, with the possibility of hosting up to 125,000 spectators per day and a track of 4.5 to 5.5 km with a straight line of at least 1 km. Interested parties are invited to submit their tender before the end of the month. We note that the cyalami near Johannesburg has signed a contract with Apex Circuit Design, for changes in the track, according to FIA Grade 1 standards. Also Cape Town wants to host Grand Prix, on the coastal roads or on a track on the outskirts of the city. However, the F1 administration has expressed interest in returning to the African continent and has ongoing discussions with Rwanda, which has been suffering from civil wars. However, it is pushing Thailand, which has a MotoGP race, like Korea with the big car industry, to enter the calendari. The data so far is that the contract with the Grand Prix of Belgium in Spa, which will be held alternately with other European games, and Zadvoort of the Netherlands will host its last Grand Prix in 2026. So it opens a position from 2027. As for the calendari of 2026, Mexico seems to remain and the Grand Prix of Imola will be out. If that happens, then we’ll have a vacancy if the 24 games remain.
