Formula 1: McLaren Signs New Multi-Year Deal with Oscar Piastri

As we approach the start of this year’s championship in Australia, McLaren has announced a multi-year contract extension with Oscar Piastri. The Australian driver, who joined the team in 2023 and already had a contract until 2026, will remain with the British team for several more years. McLaren rewarded Piastri for his impressive performances last season. Piastri finished fourth in the 2024 championship but helped secure McLaren’s Constructors’ title. In 2024, the 23-year-old Australian won the Grand Prix of Hungary and Azerbaijan, placed on the podium in Monaco, Austria, Belgium, Monza, Singapore, and Qatar, and also claimed a Sprint victory in Qatar. He was the only driver to complete all races in the 2024 season, just his second year in Formula 1. This announcement coincides with multi-year extensions for CEO Zak Brown, Team Principal Andrea Stella, driver Lando Norris, and other senior team members, confirming McLaren F1 Team’s long-term stability as they pursue further titles in Formula 1.
