On June 15, 2025, former PASOK MP Manos Fragkiadoulakis passed away at the age of 80 in Heraklion. According to local reports from neakriti.gr, Fragkiadoulakis was found deceased at his home in the Mastaba area of Heraklion after battling serious health issues for an extended period.
Born in Heraklion, Crete, in 1945, Fragkiadoulakis studied medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and began his medical career specializing at Alexandra Hospital (1977-1980). He later worked as a radiologist in the private sector in Heraklion starting in 1981. In 1992, he co-founded the diagnostic center ‘Pagkritia Ygeia,’ which expanded across Crete.
Fragkiadoulakis served as a Member of Parliament for Heraklion with PASOK from 1993 to 2007 and held various public roles including Deputy Mayor of Heraklion (1984-1992) focusing on health, cleanliness, and welfare. He also chaired DEPTAHE and was the unpaid president of Venizelio Hospital (1983-1987), establishing critical social structures such as KESAN and KAPE, which became national benchmarks.
