Forests: How their management can bring 2 billion euros to the Greek economy

in

The summer season and together their barrage have passed, but no more than one of its key factors has been overcome and this is no other, according to the government, than the non-management of them. However, the Ministry of Energy has applied the law 5106/2024 ( Settings to address the multi-level impacts of climate change), runs all processes in order to manage forests, which could not only prevent future uncontrolled fires (at great cost to the inhabitants of the affected areas, production, state etc.), but also contribute to the no… contemptible amount of 2 billion euros to the Greek economy, when from 2025 – 2026 the whole project is fully developed. This is what they say in newssit.gr, explaining such a large financial contribution from the forests – which exceed 200 per country – to GDP, presupposes the implementation of the design resulting from the aforementioned law. The three stages of the forest management plan This design has three main stages: The first is the preparation of management studies for all forests in the country. The beginning will be with Attica, Boeotia, Ilia and southern Greece in general – for which there has been no management study for many decades – as the studies are expected by the end of this year. The following studies, to be published in 2025, will concern the northernmost regions of Greece, for which – however – there are more recent studies. The second stage provides for notices in order to undertake forest cooperatives, private companies (e.g. timber companies) or cooperative formations that will include both forest cooperatives and private companies. Any entity that will undertake the management of a forest or above forest – in neighbouring or even completely unrelated geographical areas. Since, in southern Greece, forest cooperatives are not developed, and timber companies could co-operatives etc. in northern Greece take over forest management in southern Greece, according to the same sources. The third stage includes the sale of the products of each forest or forest, managed by an entity. According to officials of the Ministry of Energy, Greek forests produce up to 120 products, with more basic of which, of course, timber, retsina, plants used for medicines or cosmetics etc. Part of the profits of the aforementioned operators from the sale of forest products (after their management) will be returned to the municipalities, while another will be channelled to the financing of other companies, which will undertake the cleaning of forests. Earning from the implementation of such a project will also be the sector of workers in forestry cooperatives (p. It consists of 4,000 persons employed), the forestry industry (p. Already 400 foresters are employed in drafting management studies, but also those involved in or involved in the domestic small production (e.g. beekeepers, farmers, agritourist entrepreneurs, etc.) With regard to the resources of implementing this project, the same sources say they will come from the trade in air pollutants rights and the EU Green Fund.
