A forensic doctor from the Forensic Service of Crete has been brought in for questioning by Chania police following a months-long investigation into alleged tampering with medical examination results. The doctor was summoned on the morning of Thursday, 23 July 2026.
Lawyer and Three Others Also Summoned
A well-known Chania-based lawyer was also summoned in connection with the same case. According to reports, the lawyer had previously handled criminal cases involving defendants — not deceased persons — where allegedly falsified medical test results were submitted. These examinations reportedly concerned individuals facing drug-related charges.
Also among those summoned is a laboratory employee of the Forensic Service of Crete, who — according to police findings — allegedly participated in altering test outcomes.
Focus on Drug-Related Case Files
The investigation, described by official sources as highly serious, has been assigned to the Chania Security Directorate. It centers on reviewing case files related to narcotics investigations. Authorities are examining whether test results included in specific criminal dossiers were altered or otherwise compromised.
The lawyer’s prior involvement in cases involving defendants struggling with substance dependence is being reviewed alongside other evidence collected by investigators.
At least three of the individuals summoned remain under questioning at the Security Directorate’s offices as part of the ongoing preliminary inquiry. Police are working to determine whether unlawful interventions occurred during the issuance or recording of test results — and which individuals may be involved.
The investigation remains active, with developments expected as new evidence and testimonies emerge.
