In the leading category of prototypes in sports car racing, it comes back from 2027 the , participating in the WEC. After nearly 60 years the American brand will face: Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Isota Fraschini, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota, wanting to claim victories again. CORVERSE Ford Performance will lead the effort with a full factory team, with the main goal of claiming victory in the ultimate endurance race – the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We note that from 1966 to 1969, Ford won four consecutive years in the oldest sports car endurance race in the world, held in the city of Le Mans in France. Since then, Ford has focused on wins in individual categories, initially in 2016 with Ford GT in the GTLM class, and most recently with Ford Mustang GT3. According to Bill Ford, the company head, Ford wants primarily to win Ferrari! “We are entering a new era for Ford in terms of performance and games. This is evident from our racing activities both on and off the road. When we participate in games, we run to win. There is no track or race that matters more to our history than Le Mans. There, in the 1960s, we faced Ferrari and managed to win. We returned 50 years later and surprised the world, defeating Ferrari again. I am excited to return to Le Mans and to compete at the highest level of endurance struggles,” he said. Ford’s return to the upper level of the institution confirms the success and impact of the existing Hypercars regulations and as stated by sports officials, the golden age of endurance struggles has begun.
