Florida Teen Sets Friend on Fire with Gasoline, Laughs as He Burns

In Florida, 17-year-old Bradey Ming poured gasoline on his friend—who was sitting near a campfire—causing severe burns. The shocking incident occurred on January 11 on Kauffman Island in Lake Kerr. Video footage, later shared on social media, shows Ming and others laughing while the victim runs toward the lake to extinguish flames engulfing his body. He was airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville and treated for second-degree burns on his right hand, leg, and buttocks, plus full-thickness burns on both lower legs and his left thigh. Ming was arrested for felony aggravated battery. Initially, he lied to his parents, claiming the fire was accidental—but his father recognized him in the video and contacted sheriff’s deputies. Despite the trauma, the victim reportedly told authorities he was ‘okay’ with Ming, who claimed he only wanted to warm himself and friends in the cold.
