Five Arrested for Illegal Beach Occupation in Anavyssos

Five owners and temporary managers of establishments were arrested by the police on Sunday morning (May 11, 2025) for illegally occupying a beach in Anavyssos. Officers from the Saronic Police Department conducted a raid to ensure public access to beaches. According to ELAS, during the operation, five individuals were detained for converting licensed cafes into open bars without authorization. They had placed tables, chairs, and sound systems on the beach, effectively transforming them into beach bars. Additionally, they installed umbrellas and sunbeds across a large area of the beach. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them for illegal beach occupation, and relevant authorities have been informed. The detainees were taken to the competent prosecutor. Furthermore, ELAS stated that similar actions are being carried out along the Attica coastline.
