The american president has worried major european allies with the requirements to increase spending, and the statements of support for the alliance with Russia to counter the fighters of the Islamic State, according to a report of Reuters, which relays the Athens News Agency.
“The president looks forward to meeting with his counterparts in NATO to reaffirm its strong commitment to NATO and to discuss issues of vital importance for the alliance, especially the alliance sharing of responsibilities and the role of NATO in the fight against terrorism”, the White House announced.
The Trump will host at the White House on April 12, NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg to discuss “how to strengthen the alliance in order to face the challenges to national and international security”, said the announcement.
