Fire Under Control in Botaniko – Emergency Alert Sent to Residents

The fire that broke out in the afternoon on Wednesday (23/04/2025) in a waste area in an open space in Botaniko has been brought under control, according to the Fire Brigade. Simultaneously, an emergency message was sent via 112 to residents of Attica advising them to stay indoors and close windows and doors due to smoke. The message stated: ‘Fire progressing in a residential area near Botaniko. Smoke is heading towards your area. Stay indoors, close doors and windows, and follow official instructions.’ A total of 15 firefighters worked with five vehicles to extinguish the blaze, with support from water supply units and machinery provided by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
