The fire that broke out in the early hours of today (March 22, 2025) at Nikaea General Hospital has been brought under control. According to the Fire Service, the blaze started around 9:45 PM yesterday (March 21, 2025) in an underground area of the hospital, specifically on the second basement level (-2 floor), where cardboard boxes and machinery were stored. Thanks to the swift response of the Fire Service, no patients were endangered, and the fire did not spread to other floors. A total of 21 firefighters with 7 vehicles, including a specialized extendable boom vehicle, worked tirelessly at the scene. Additionally, volunteers provided support during the operation.
