Fire in Evia: Attempt to get electricity to the villages of Northern Evia

Thousands of power lines have been destroyed in North Evia, kilometers of cables remain on the roads, transformers and other materials are useless after the fire.

Entire villages remain without electricity for days and many of them without water.

Electricity service crews are proceeding with the repairs at a fast pace, but the fires are constantly destroying new sections.

The regional director of Electricity service, referring to the situation for the Municipality of Istiaia-Edipsos, notes that “based on the data we had until yesterday, 6.000 people did not have electricity and at the moment we still have about 2.000 people left to receive electricity”.
