Fire in Chania: Two Helicopters Deployed – Message from 112 to Residents «Stay Alert»

A forest fire broke out in the early morning of Friday (4.7.25) in the Agriles area of Chania, Crete. The 112 emergency service issued a call urging residents to remain alert and prepared. To combat the blaze, 36 firefighters were mobilized, including a foot patrol team from the 19th EMOODE, along with 13 vehicles and two helicopters.

Strong winds are reported at the site, complicating firefighting efforts. A message was also sent by the Civil Protection Authority advising locals to stay on standby and follow official instructions.

The fire is currently active, and authorities are working to contain it while keeping the public informed through official channels.
