The operation of the platform for first aid by those affected by the recent great of 11 August 2024 in the Region of Attica is extended. In particular, until 30 September, the operation of the platform, which operates with the contribution of the Independent Public Revenue Authority, is extended to submit applications for first aid from fire victims in the Region of Attica, which opened on Tuesday 20 August 2024, following the publication of relevant decisions (GEC B’4987/3.9.2024 and FEK B’4988/3.9.2024). Applications shall be submitted to the platform: For first aid for grants, by businesses and non-profit operators, as well as the farms affected by the fires, with the amount of aid amounting to EUR 2,000 for serious material damage and EUR 4,000 for very serious material damage. For first housing assistance, property owners affected by the fires, with the amount of aid amounting to EUR 10,000, for a building which has suffered heavy damage which makes it dangerous for use or dangerously damaged (Red), or EUR 5,000, for a building that has suffered serious damage which has temporarily rendered it unfit for use (‘Kitrino’), as described after controls by the General Secretariat for the Rehabilitation of Natural Disasters and State Aid. When the application is submitted, the corresponding bulletin or Report or Protocol for the designation of the building must be attached. Beneficiaries note that beneficiaries are affected in areas of the Municipalities of Vrilissia, Chalandri, Pentelis of the Northern Section of Athens and the Municipalities of Marathon, Dionysos, Oropos, Rafinas – Pigermiou and Pallini of the Eastern Attica Regional Unit, as well as the Municipality of Megarons of the Western Attica Regional Unit, the Region of Attica, which have been declared in a state of emergency civil protection. It is noted that on Monday, September 2, 2024, the first payment of first aid was made to those affected by the recent fires of 11 August 2021 in areas of the Attica Region, amounting to 542,781, EUR 51 in 121 cases of beneficiaries, following the submission of the first applications to the arogi.gov.gr platform. More specifically, 522.781 was paid. EUR 51 to 114 property owners, in the form of first housing assistance, and EUR 20,000 to 7 companies in the form of first grant aid. It is recalled that for the payment of the aid, it is preceded by a cross-check of the applications submitted to the platform, with the data of the applications submitted to the region concerned for the assessment and recording of losses by the State Aid Committees, with regard to first aid for grant, as well as with the data of the Autopsies of the General Secretariat for Rehabilitation of Natural Disasters and State Aid, as regards first aid for housing assistance. The amount of the first grant aid shall be offset by the amount of the final grant, as determined after the State Aid Committees of the Region have recorded losses, while the amount of the first housing assistance shall be offset by the final amount of the housing aid, as determined by the relevant decision delimiting and granting housing assistance. For both first housing assistance and first grant aid, where the recipient submits a false declaration or does not submit a dossier to the competent authorities or is not ultimately deemed beneficiary or the amount he is entitled to is less, the total amount or excess amount is to be reimbursed to the Greek State.
