An emergency alert has been issued following a wildfire that broke out on Thursday morning (03.07.2025) in the Archangelos area of Laconia. A message was sent by the 112 emergency service advising residents to evacuate immediately. The fire, currently burning through low vegetation, has prompted a large-scale response from firefighting units. An official alert from 112 urged residents of Archangelos, Laconia, to leave the area and head toward Daimonia. The message specifically stated: ‘Forest fire in the Archangelos region of the Regional Unit of Laconia. If you are in the Archangelos area, move towards Daimonia. Follow the instructions of the authorities.’ According to the Fire Department, the blaze started around 9:08 AM on Thursday. For its suppression, 35 firefighters were deployed alongside one team from the 9th EMAK rapid response unit, 11 vehicles, four aircraft, and one helicopter. Additional support is being provided by water tankers from local municipalities.
