A fire broke out today (4 July 2026) around 13:00 in a central reservation strip along Kifissos Avenue, opposite the former Renault site in Nea Filadelfeia — a northern Athens suburb.
Traffic Disruptions Reported
The blaze, which ignited low-lying vegetation in the median, has caused significant traffic delays on Kifissos Avenue — particularly in the northbound lane toward Lamia. Heavy vehicle queues have also formed on the southbound stretch near Metamorfosi.
Live traffic monitoring at 13:35 showed ongoing congestion across both directions in the affected area.
Repeat Incident
This is not the first such incident: approximately one week earlier, another fire had broken out in a central reservation along the same stretch of Kifissos Avenue.
