A wildfire broke out around 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in an agricultural area of Psakoudia in Chalkidiki — a region in northern Greece known for its forested peninsulas and residential communities.
The fire ignited close to homes, prompting an immediate response from the Hellenic Fire Service. Twenty firefighters, a徒步 (foot) unit from the 2nd Mobile Unit of the Hellenic Fire Service’s Special Operations Division (2nd EMODE), and five vehicles were deployed to the scene.
Water tankers from the Municipality of Polygyros also assisted in the operation.
In parallel, the Chalkidiki Arson Investigation Team was dispatched to the site to examine the cause of the blaze.
