Fire Breaks Out in Laconia Near Agios Nikolaos: Firefighters Battling Flames

A new wildfire broke out on Wednesday morning (June 25, 2025) in Laconia, just hours after the large front that ravaged Karavostasi was extinguished. The new fire occurred in a forested area between Agios Nikolaos, Laconia, and the Lachi region. Thirty-five firefighters are currently battling the blaze with one ground unit and 13 vehicles. Additionally, an ongoing water-dropping operation is being conducted by a helicopter from above.
