A wildfire broke out on Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2026, in a forested area near Kineta in Attica. The blaze ignited in a mountainous region far from residential buildings or critical infrastructure.
Emergency Response Underway
Thirty-eight firefighters are tackling the fire, supported by three ground teams from the 1st Mobile Emergency Response Unit (EMODE), volunteers, and five fire engines. One helicopter has been deployed for aerial operations.
Water tankers from the Municipality of Megara are also assisting the effort. In parallel, the West Attica Arson Investigation Team has been activated to examine the cause of the fire.
