Fire Breaks Out in Kefalonia – Helicopter Deployed for Assistance

A wildfire erupted in a forested area near Livadi, Kefalonia, during the midday of Sunday, April 27, 2025. The Kefalonia Fire Department immediately mobilized to extinguish the blaze. A team of 16 firefighters, supported by one patrol unit from the 16th Special Missions Unit (EMODE), and four vehicles are actively combating the fire on the ground. Additionally, an aerial response has been initiated with the deployment of one helicopter aiding in the firefighting efforts. This swift action aims to contain and extinguish the fire as quickly as possible.
