Fire Breaks Out in Heraklion’s Philisia Village – Two Helicopters Deployed

A fire broke out at noon on Saturday (21.06.2025) in the village of Philisia in Crete. An alarm was raised at the Fire Department regarding the fire that occurred in an agricultural area of the Philisia village, located in the municipality of Archanes-Asteroussia in Heraklion. The mobilization of the fire department is significant as they are actively working to immediately contain the blaze. Nineteen firefighters, including one ground team from the 3rd Emergency Mobile Unit, six vehicles, and two helicopters have been deployed to the scene. Assistance is also being provided by water-carrying aircraft. Strong winds are blowing in the area, complicating firefighting efforts.
