A fire erupted at noon on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in a forested area of the Choristi region in Drama. Immediately after the fire was detected, firefighting forces were alerted and mobilized. A total of 42 firefighters, supported by two infantry teams from the 7th EMODE, 13 vehicles, eight aircraft, and one helicopter have been deployed to combat the blaze. Assistance is also being provided by water-carrying OTA units and construction machinery. There is currently no information indicating whether any residential areas are under threat.
