Fire at Beach Outside Chalcis – Strong Winds in the Area

A wildfire is currently spreading near the coastal area of Loutsios Beach in the Municipality of Chalkidios, outside Chalcis on the island of Euboea. According to reports from evima.gr, the fire began in dry grass, and strong firefighting forces are working to contain it. Ten firefighters with three vehicles arrived from the Chalcis Fire Department, along with three firefighters and one vehicle from Thebes. Early witness accounts collected by local media indicate that the fire is intense and visible from nearby beaches, with flames rapidly spreading due to strong winds. The region was already categorized as a high-risk area for wildfires by the Civil Protection Authority, and this incident heightens concerns about the danger level in the coming days.
