Feast Day: Who Celebrates on March 15, 2025?

in

Today, Saturday (March 15, 2025), according to the liturgical calendar, the feast day of Saint Agapius the Martyr is celebrated. The name celebrated today, as per the feast day calendar, is Agapios. Saint Agapius and his fellow martyrs lived and won their eternal rewards during the persecution of Diocletian (284-304) against the Church. Agapius was from Gaza in Palestine, Timolaus from the Black Sea, the two Dionysii from Tripoli in Phoenicia, Romulus—a subdeacon—from Lydda or Diospolis, Pleasius, and the two Alexanders from Egypt. They were accused of being Christians and brought before the governor of Caesarea, Urban, where they boldly confessed Christ. All attempts by the governor to bribe or intimidate them failed because the word of God prevailed in their minds: ‘Do not be afraid of those who are afraid, nor be troubled’ (First Epistle of Peter, 3:14). This means, do not fear the fear with which unbelievers seek to terrify you, and do not be troubled by it at all. They all died as martyrs by beheading, giving all Christian fighters a message of courage and hope. Additionally, today is World Consumer Rights Day and International Day Against Police Brutality.
