Fearless – PAOK: 10 people identified for the Peristeri episodes

Police went on to identify 10 fans who caused episodes and corruption on foreign property in his game with him in the Dove for the Super League. According to a communication from the Department of Security of Western Attica, the Directorate of Security of Attica, a total of 10 -10- people were identified, who are accused of – where appropriate – damage of foreign ownership as well as a violation of sports legislation, as part of a football match (p. Atromitos – PAOK) which took place on 18-08-2024, at the Municipal Stadium of Peristeri. A defining role for their identification was – among other things – the exploitation of video material, which was seized by the surveillance system established on the field as well as the system for issuing and digital identification of electronic sports tickets, which is now being made by fans before entering sports facilities, under recent legislation. At the same time, an appropriate assessment of information and preliminary data was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Violence in Sports, the Directorate of Security of Attica. In particular, it emerged that eight–8 of the above defendants, including a minor, on the grounds of the stadium, were kicked into breakage and detachment of seats, both during and after the race ended. Some then hurled them into the field, while the rest threw them into the platform space. In addition, for the others -2-indictees, it was found that they participated as a tenant- driver and additional vehicle driver, in the organised movement of fans, in violation of the relevant decision adopted by the competent Ministry on 14-08-2024. The file formed was submitted to the competent prosecutor. On the occasion of this case, it should be noted that the staff of the Greek Police will continue intensive checks to deal with violence in sports areas, applying the legislation in full, both within and around sports facilities and in any other area.
