Father and Son Trapped in Neda Gorge – Rescue Operation Underway

An emergency unfolded on Sunday (11.05.2025) in the Neda area when two individuals, a father and his son, fell into a gorge. A rescue operation is currently underway in the Neda region, located at the borders of Ilia and Messenia prefectures. Reports indicate that the two men became trapped in an extremely difficult location after falling into the gorge while hiking near the Neda canyon, known for its unstable terrain. Fire department units, police officers, and an EKAB medical team were immediately deployed to provide support and first aid to the victims. It’s worth noting that the Neda gorge has been the site of similar incidents in the past, underscoring the need for heightened caution and proper preparation before visiting.
