Dark and difficult described the three years that passed since the murder of his son, Aristides Kampanos, his father, who was brutally murdered in a “blind” fan blow, on 1 February 2022. The murdered Alkis Kampanos became a symbol against fan violence in Greek society, but with his parents rising their own Calvary. CORVERSE “With my wife Elina, we think we are having a bad dream, a nightmare, that we will wake up and see that our Alkis is alive,” said Mr. Kampanos in an ERT show, who, however, added that he is still receiving positive messages from the new children, while the state is moving in the direction of tightening the laws. “All this is not magical solutions, however, from one moment to another we cannot turn into an angel society, we still have many steps ahead of us,” stressed the father of the wronged Alki, while moved to mention an incident that happened to him the other day in a speech when a young PAOK fan apologized to him on behalf of his team. CORVERSE “There is a future for our children, although I thought that Alkis would be the last victim of fan violence, he was not. But I want to see it optimisticly, that the bad abscess of football will be cured and that the offenders will be expelled from the teams. Young people who love their team cannot hate. They should not build walls but bridges of love and understanding, respect the opponent and applaud him, when he wins, no jersey should be above life,” he concluded. Today Sunday, February 2nd, over 2,000 runners from all over Greece and abroad, having on their jersey number 19, will run on the streets of Thessaloniki, on the initiative of “structure 1 February in the name of Alki”. Athletes, citizens, people with disabilities, will wear the colours of the groups they support and run to change the popular culture with these actions of empathy and co-existence of colors,” said the director of the structure Mr. Lefteris Papas.
