Fatal Car Crash in Xanthi: 19-Year-Old Driver Dead, Passenger Injured

A tragic and irreversible accident unfolded in Xanthi, where a 19-year-old lost his life, and a peer was injured. The fatal crash occurred on Saturday evening (07.06.25) on the Old National Road of Xanthi-Kavala, near the village of Eumoirou. According to ERT, an automobile driven by a 19-year-old veered off the road under yet-to-be-determined circumstances and overturned. The young driver succumbed to his injuries after being extracted from the wreckage by firefighters. Meanwhile, the passenger was also injured. Both were transported to Xanthi Hospital via an EKAB ambulance. Three firefighting vehicles with seven firefighters and police forces responded to the scene. An investigation into the accident’s conditions is underway by the Xanthi Traffic Department.
