Fatal Accident on Poseidonos Avenue: Municipal Employee Dies in Trash Truck Collision with Taxi

A tragic accident unfolded Friday morning (06.06.25) when a municipal employee lost her life in a collision involving a garbage truck and a taxi. The incident occurred under unclear circumstances at the intersection of Poseidonos Avenue and Kalamakiou Street, near Alimos. According to initial reports, the taxi attempted an overtaking maneuver and collided with the garbage truck. The municipal worker, who was in the back of the garbage truck, was transported by an EKAB ambulance to the hospital but unfortunately passed away. Due to the accident, traffic is currently diverted to the left lane in the area. An investigation into the causes of the fatal accident is ongoing.
