Farmers to Hold Tractor Protest in Athens on February 13

Greek farmers are returning to the streets with tractors two weeks after ending their roadblocks. At today’s meeting in Nikaia, they decided on a large-scale tractor rally in Athens on Friday, February 13, 2026. They plan to camp at Syntagma Square overnight and depart Saturday. Additional protests will take place in major cities on Monday and Tuesday, February 9–10. Farmers also confirmed participation in nationwide demonstrations on February 28 marking the Tempe rail disaster. Despite government dialogue, producers say core issues remain unresolved—especially income compensation and the sheep pox vaccine for livestock farmers—leaving many in financial distress.
