They decided to escalate their mobilizations and take them to the streets in both Karditsa and Larissa. In particular the tractors will be gathered at the E65 node on Thursday, January 23, the farmers and ranchers of Karditsa decided during the Panthessalian meeting of federations and rural clubs completed on Friday night (17/01/2025) in Palamas. CORVERSE A corresponding roadblock will also be set up in the prefecture of Larissa with the final decision to take a meeting on Monday (20/1) in Platikabo with a more likely to be set up in Nice also on Thursday, while the farmers of Magnesia and Trikala will make their final decisions in the following days. The meeting was massive—as KarditsaLive records. Net- with the Presidents of EOASK, Mr.Kon. Jella, EOAS Larissa Mr. Riz. Maruda, EOAS Trikala Mr. L. Cheka and EOAS Magnesia Mr. Th. Georgadakis who were placed as rapporteurs, but also the farmers and farmers who participated in it to express on the one hand their anxiety and intense concern over the accumulation of major problems. At the same time they expressed the intention to fight to claim their resolution and the satisfaction of their demands that will allow them to continue their engagement with their crops and animals. CORVERSE The EOASK proposal, as it originally put it by welcoming the farmers’ representatives of the other institutional prefectures, was to set up a block by county, due to the difficulty and cost of moving farmers to create a single block, but at the same time to develop joint actions to highlight the problems and to always have the prospect of further escalation while Mr. Marudas and Cherkas expressed the mood and the members of their federations advocated the creation of a joint bloc in Nice to put the greatest possible pressure on the government with Mr. Georgadakis to show his willingness to support what the majority decides whether this will be the creation of a single bloc or local bloc in Magnesia. With the proposal for a single block, the representative of farmers in the Farsala and Tyrnavu region was drafted. Problems and the challenge framework The high production costs combined with the low prices and the “lack” production of this year attributed to the situation in which the fields came after the floods, as noted at the meeting, have shrunk the agricultural income which in some cases does not even cover the costs incurred by farmers which highlights as cutting-edge demands for the replacement of lost income, and guaranteed prices. At the same time, it makes it imperative to take measures to substantially reduce production costs such as duty-free agricultural oil – not the return of the EIC – to impose a ceiling on electricity and to subsidise fertilisers, feed and agri-food. Also the main claim is to pay the linked aid even if the ceiling is not covered. The restoration of the mounds and the construction of the necessary flood relief projects as well as the payment of compensation for the reconstruction of the dwellings are also essential demands of farmers and farmers in the region who additionally need to restore their stable facilities for which as highlighted in the meeting are almost excluded from measure 5.2. The framework of the basic requests made once again by farmers and farmers on the road is as follows: • Repayment of lost agricultural income due to reduced production and low prices • Compensation to 100% of losses in agricultural capital and production • Change of the regulation of the ELGA covering all natural risks and diseases at all stages of production • Measures to reduce production costs such as duty-free oil in the pump, flood at current 7 minutes/Kwh, fertilizer subsidy, farmland and feed • Guaranteed prices for our products for our survival and affordable prices in popular consumption • Implementation of all necessary infrastructure and preventive measures to protect against natural disasters and diseases • Connecting the subsidy to agricultural production and livestock • Do not lose the associated due to the non-coverage of the framework due to weather conditions and diseases • Abolition of FODs – Statements made free of charge • Measures to control “Hellenicisations” – completion of state services • Direct increase of agricultural pensions. By the day of the mobilisation of EOASK, visits will be made to the villages of the region to mobilize as many farmers as possible to participate in the mobilisation
