A well-known actor from theater and television was arrested following an alcohol test in Volos after participating in a play. According to reports, the incident occurred late Monday evening (7/7/25), when he was stopped at a police checkpoint and found to have exceeded the legal alcohol limit. The 48-year-old actor admitted to consuming alcohol after the performance, stating that he had ‘two or three small shots of tsipouro’ backstage with friends.
Following the show, he and members of the production team were moving equipment from the municipal theater’s parking lot to a hotel parking area for safety reasons. However, during this transfer, he was caught by traffic police.
The actor was taken into custody and appeared before the Volos Single-Member Misdemeanors Court the next morning (8/7/25). He acknowledged his mistake, saying, ‘I am here justly. Alcohol and driving don’t mix.’
Surprisingly, despite the prosecutor recommending a guilty verdict, the presiding judge showed leniency and acquitted the actor, advising him to be more cautious when drinking and avoid driving altogether. Several cast members, including another well-known actor and co-star, were present in court during the proceedings.
